Our Legacy
Development plans for Ballooning International Web began in 1995. Our goal was to create the premiere community service site for ballooning enthusiasts around the world. Today our site features hundreds of pages, over 100 in the root directory alone, over a thousand ballooning images, and the most comprehensive listing of ballooning pages on the Internet. None of this would have been possible without the contributions of several people.

Navigating Our Site
You might find our site map helpful in finding your way around. Simple web database HTML publishing technology is being used to develop and manage this website publication. As such, some of the page URL addresses are dynamic. To be sure you can always find your way back to your favorite area, please enter the Ballooning International Web from its home page address at http://www.ballooning.net and use that URL as your browser bookmark. If you have any doubts as to whether you should link to one of our internal pages, please don't hesitate to ask our editors.

On August 11, 1998 this site was transferred to our electronic publishing division which operates under a shared IP addressing system. This is insignificant news unless you are using a fairly old browser. If you are using 2.1 or older versions, you might need to use the address of http://abq.net/ballooning/ to reach the Ballooning International home page.

Browser Compatibility
We started adding Java applets to this web site in 1998. Where possible we try to remember to create alternative pages for those visitors who are not equipped with Java-compatible browsers. However, since the standard versions of the two most popular browsers on the market are free (exclusive of your download time costs), we encourage you to upgrade as soon as possible. You will also find that most of our Java applets perform faster when launched under the latest release of Microsoft® Internet Explorer.
